Vintage Berber Jewellery Box

Lovely heavy piece of vintage Berber handcrafted work.  The base and sides of the box are much heavier than the lid and appear to have originally been a bracelet.  It was common for wealth to be put into jewellery and then those jewellery pieces to be ‘hidden’ so that they were not stolen.
