One of the most moving rituals you can experience is making an offering to Ganga. As the sun sets and the sky turns golden, you step to the edge of her sacred waters with an offering in hand—a diya (oil lamp), fresh flowers, or even your intentions written on paper.

The ritual is simple yet profound:

Light the diya and hold it in your palms. Feel its warmth and let it symbolize your gratitude and wishes.

Set your intentions—what do you want to release? What are you ready to invite into your life?

Offer it to Ganga: Place the diya gently into the river and watch it float away, carrying your prayers with the current.

Sit comfortably, spine straight, and hands resting on your knees.

Inhale deeply through your nose.

Exhale in short, sharp bursts, engaging your lower belly. (Think of pumping your navel in and out with each exhale.)

So an active exhale as you push the diaphragm up and a passive inhale as the diaphragm moves back down.

Repeat this rhythmically for 1 minute, then pause and breathe normally.
